Angela Evelyn Bassett is an American actress. In the film and television industry, she is known for her numerous awards and nominations. Bassett grew up living in Winston-Salem North Carolina, raised by an aunt in New York New York. The mother of Bassett had divorced from her father when she was around five. Bassett and her younger sister then went to St. Petersburg Florida with their mother. Bassett watched the James Earl Jones in John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men play when she was in high school, and realised that it was acting she would like to be doing. When she graduated of Yale University New Haven Connecticut in 1980, with the Bachelor's degree with a major in African American Studies, she continued to pursue the Master's degree (1983) from the Yale School of Drama. While at Yale she met Courtney B. Vance a actress who was a friend of hers. They married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. Bachelor of Arts (Afro-American studies) in 1980. A Master of Fine Arts (Drama) from Yale School of Drama School. Angela Bassett has been cast in one the leading roles of Ramonda in the action-adventure movie, i.e. Black Panther: Wakanda forever (2022).
